Third marathon (individual and pair)

14 km - just waiting for you

The challenge that is just big enough to make you proud of yourself!

The third marathon is halfway between the ten and half marathon distances. If the former is boring and the half marathon still doesn't appeal to you for some reason, then you've found the best choice: run 14 kilometers on a really fast course, while admiring the incomparable panorama of Lake Balaton in the fall. Sounds good, right? Or would you rather share the experience with someone else? Then enter in pairs!

On the day of the event

It's always worth paying attention to the announcer! Some things may change or be modified on the day of the event and this is the only way we can inform you about them.

Meeting point

We will set up “Meeting Point” signs at the competition center, which are clearly visible from afar, so that competitors, relatives and fans can meet each other around them. If you are coming with a group or class, this is a safe spot where you can meet up even in the large crowd. Before you start, agree with your companions and chaperones on the exact meeting point after reaching the finish line.

Information

At each of our events you will meet a dedicated information team who will help you navigate not only the specific event. If you are interested in details of other BSI events, or would like to register for other running or walking distances this year, look for the BSI information tent near the Competition Center!

Lost children

They can provide information about children separated from their parents in the information tent. We ask you to contact them for help!

Etiquette

Arrive on time! – to avoid the stress of waiting in line at the competition center and changing rooms, to have time to meet up with friends you haven't seen in a while, or to meet new acquaintances and sports buddies.

During the event, do not block the entire width of the road. If you hear someone approaching, move aside as soon as possible and let them pass.

We ask that you keep the area of the competition center and the route, especially at the refreshment stations, clean! Use the waste containers provided and do not litter! Restoring the venue to its original condition is a very big task, thank you for helping us with this!

  • Each kilometer is marked with a sign clearly placed on the route.
  • This is also a way for you to check yourself to make sure you are completing the distance at a pace that suits you and your preparation.
  • In some cases, in 2-lap races, we will place the second lap's kilometer signs while completing the first lap, and you may still see the first lap's kilometer signs while completing the second lap.

During this period, the entrance and exit to the locker room will only be from the Balaton side.

We will establish diversions on the Petőfi Promenade between Táncsics Mihály Street and Mikes Kelemen Street.

The timing service provider is AGNI-Timing.
Timing is done with UHF chips attached to the back of the starting number.

Timing is done using timing mats (antennas) placed on the ground, which detect the transmitter placed in the starting number from a distance of approximately 2-3 meters. Time stamping is done at the strongest signal (when passing over the mat).

To record successful individual times, please follow these rules:

Rules for wearing bib numbers:

Individual starters:

  • The race number must be worn visibly throughout the race, on the abdomen/chest (a race number belt is permitted).
  • The chip on the back of the bib number must not be removed, folded or pierced with a safety pin.
  • Everyone should make sure to wear their own race number during the race.
  • After arriving at your destination, please leave the measurement point as soon as possible.

Couples:

  • Pairs will receive 2 types of starting numbers:
    • INDIVIDUAL STARTING NUMBER, which contains the team's starting number and an index number (1 or 2)
      • This must be worn by the team member, there is no chip on it

      • This number must be worn with an elastic band around the waist by the team member currently running.
      • The changeover takes place by handing over this start number, after the finish gate in the changeover zone designed according to the start number.
      • The TRANSITIONAL BIBS may only be removed in the transition zone.
        • The transition zone is the area between the first Individual/Transitional barrier and the end of the last transition zone.

On the third marathon:

  • at the end of the 1st lap, leaving the finish gate: water, powerade, glucose, banana
  • water upon arrival

Attention:

  • Due to weather conditions at the event, despite our best efforts, the drinks placed on display may be too cold. In case of strong winds, the glasses may tip over, which may slow down the refreshment process. Please be patient!
  • If weather permits, we will also set up an additional water station along the route.

IMPORTANT!

  • At the refreshment stations along the route, we will place giant bags attached to a cordon capable of storing 1 cubic meter of waste, primarily for collecting empty cups.
    • You will find the giant bags on both sides of the route, after the last refreshment table.
    • The last giant bags will be placed 50 meters from the end of the station, this will be indicated by a separate sign. Please throw the waste you brought with you from the refreshment station into this at the latest!
    • Please do not throw away any waste generated along the route, but put it in the containers placed at the refreshment station.

A competitor who does not complete the first lap within 1 hour and 5 minutes (gross time shown by the clock at the finish gate) will not be allowed to start the second lap.

We ask runners who have been passed to move out and walk on the right side of the route!

Prizes will be awarded to the 1st-3rd place female, male and mixed doubles runners in the third marathon pairs.

The rankings are determined based on the order of arrivals at the finish line (Gross time). In each event, only those registered for that event will be evaluated.

information after arrival
